Why is talkyoo free
of charge? What is the catch?
The idea for talkyoo has developed from the necessity to "cheaply" acquaint
our products and services – with this, talkyoo with its free BasicConference
is a marketing tool for the BB Tel GmbH in Germany.
talkyoo is not completely free of charge, but every participant only pays
the net connection fees quoted by his service provider to one of the
national access numbers. Compared with our competitors, we do not charge an
extra fee for using our conference system in the basic package.

How do I start a
conference?
Supply us with your e-mail address.
You receive your personal conference room number and an invitation e-mail in
a few hours. Set a date for the conference and send the invitation combined
with the conference room number and the access numbers of all countries to
your participants. All participants dial-up at the set date their national
access number and enter the conference room number after request.

How much does a
telephone conference cost?
You only have to pay the connections fees to the fixed network and no extra
fees.

Are the fees of all
participants taken over by the conference manager when the access number is
is a landline number or does every participant has to pay his dial-up fees?
As it is the case with normal telephone calls via the landline network,
every participant pays his call, this means a telephone conference with
talkyoo costs the same as a "normal" call. You only pay the connection fees
to the landline network, no fees for expensive service numbers.

Do I have to book
conference capacities in advance?
No, you do not have to inform us about scheduled conferences. The system
automatically connects all who have entered the same conference room number.

Can I use my
conference room number only once?
Your conference room number is indefinitely valid. You can use this number
for as many conferences as you wish.

Can mobile phone
users take part in conferences?
Of course, the conference application can be reached via mobile networks.
The service is even free of charge for users of flat rate packages.
Otherwise the call is as expensiva as every other national landline call.

Can participants
from countries abroad take part in conferences?
Of course, they can. You dial-up with landline network numbers to talkyoo.
This grants the
accessibility from foreign countries. If we don't have a national access
number in certain countries, the participants should call via skype or our
german number +49 40 1888 1000 (international call then!).

Which
specifications should the devices have?
Devices have to support DMTF signals (MFV signals). Nearly every phone and
telecommunication system supports these standards and in some cases you may
set up the MFV technology.

How many
participants may the conference have?
Today, in Oktober 2009, you can have conferences with up to 700 participants
within germany or 100 from other countries. It is possible that in very few
cases the capacity of the system is exhausted because many conferences take
place at the same time. Therefore, other participants may not be able to
connect with the conference.

How can I protect
myself from outsiders?
As the conference room numbers are provided by talkyoo there is a secure
protection from outsiders. No conference room number is assigned twice. With
our conference manager function you also have the possibility to close your
conference room as soon as all participants are present.

I do not even hear
a welcome message, instead of this I hear a busy tone or another error
message. What has happened?
In very few cases it can happen that our system is overloaded. Of course, we
always try to provide enough capacities to serve all callers. Nevertheless,
it can happen in very few cases that we have a engaged line situation.
Please try to connect again after a short period of time!

for this?
Please check if your telephone really transfers DTMF signals. You can
possibly change the configuration of your phone to enable this technology.

I would like
to have a telephone conference, I enter my conference room number and I hear
the message „The number is too short“. What can I do?
Using an Internet-based
telephone can cause this problem because tones are often not transferred or
only in a bad quality via the Internet. This has nothing to do with talkyoo
but with the configuration of the Internet telephone client (VoIP software).
Unfortunately, the configuration is different with every software. This also
means that talkyoo and every other telephone conference provider cannot
read/see your conference room number. You can solve the problem by
re-configuring your Internet telephone client or by using a fixed network
telephone.
